Road to Hell 3D is a fast and challenging driving game for Java phones, setting a variety of challenges in a range of cars.
The basics of Road to Hell 3D
Based on the KORa series of games, Road to Hell 3D features a career mode where you need to pass courses within a given time limit in order to progress through the levels. The tracks are set over a variety of terrains (highways, countryside, snow, etc.) and each presents a tough challenge, even on the easiest of the three difficulty settings.
Driving in Road to Hell 3D is based around tapping the left and right of the screen or using the directional buttons to turn left and run. The car auto-accelerates but you'll need to hit the brake button if you want to master cornering. There are lots of ramps in Road to Hell 3D, so there's plenty of opportunity for thrilling jumps.
Limited control settings
Sadly, Road to Hell 3D doesn't have an option to configure the controls yourself, and it would've been nice to have some accelerometer-based settings so you could steer by tilting the phone.
The graphics in Road to Hell 3D are pretty good and the animation delivers a good impression of speed. Backgrounds are well drawn and there's plenty of variety.
Although Road to Hell 3D is fun to play, the fact that you have to play in career mode makes it restrictive. There's no free race mode, so it's not possible to choose a course or car to race yourself.
Road to Hell 3D is a challenging game that will appeal to driving game fans, although options in the game are very limited.
